HTC has now come up with a mid-range smartphone called HTC Desire 610. Although this is one of the cheapest Smartphones from the company, there are several competitors on the ground within the range it covers. Let us see how HTC Desire 610 proves its worth.

Appearance

HTC Desire 610 has a simple but unappealing design with a thick and chunky appearance. It gives a plastic look with a shiny back that can easily be smudged. Unlike some classy phones from HTC, this one comes in bright colors, including white, blue and red. However, buyers could expect additional choices. With a 4.7-inch display (540×960 pixels), HTC Desire 610 is lightweight at 144 grams. The display seems to be a low point of this phone. Its large bezel also looks a bit awkward while the front-facing BoomSound speakers give a decent feel. Still, you may not receive the sound quality you would expect of these speakers.

Performance

This smartphone has a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor that works wonderfully during multitasking on several apps. However, it seems that the company has saved money by providing only 8 GB of internal storage. The only satisfaction is that it can be expanded up to 64 GB using microSD cards. HTC Desire 610 provides 4G LTE and NFC for quick data transfer. This device runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) and packs a decent 2040 mAh battery. Its HTC Sense 6 interface is attractive and colorful and provides some new features along with HTC BlinkFeed.

Ease of use

HTC Desire 610 is not a very easy going and smooth device. While the handling of this device is tough, its display is also difficult to be accustomed to. While it is quite low on resolution, you may not be able to see anything under sunlight. Even the screen of this smartphone is not protected using Gorilla glass.

Usefulness

This gadget is good for capturing detailed pictures and nice videos through an 8 MP main camera. On the other hand, you will be disappointed when you need to save them. HTC Desire 610 is not so good when we talk of its internal storage capacity, as well as its display. This device is also not made for people who love to take selfies, as it only has a 1.3 MP front camera. The major usefulness of HTC Desire 610 is seen when you need to handle multiple apps and tasks.

Value for money

HTC Desire 610 will cost you around $400, which is not worth spending at all with the level of quality, storage and display this phone offers. Several competitive options within this price range are far better on all factors.
