Reuse transforms trash into arty objects

its about time

Kuwait has shown the real life effects bringing art into play. en.v Earth organized its annual contemporary art exhibition to celebrate green. Dubbed ‘Reuse’, the exhibition highlighted creations made using over 85% reused material. The artists tried to reduce their impact on the environment by reusing everything from the canvas to the paints, to the nail hanging.

‘Reuse’’ gave many young artists a platform to show their creativity and concern for the planet. They made camera lens, old doors, yarn, scrap metal, and various other forms the medium to portray their passion for art. The artwork that was a real eye-catcher was ‘It’s about time’ by Farah Al-Haidar. Farah who specializes in photography, mixed media art, and oil painting mounted the photography piece onto a reused canvas. She clicked photographs at various junkyards around Kuwait and ironed them along with other pieces on old shirts and hand sows them, creating an interesting collage. A meaningful transformation to something that is undeniably worthless.
