PRCC’s Clean Pump Initiative makes biodiesel fuel available in Pittsburgh

The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank headquarters in Duquesne launched the Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities “Clean Pump Initiative” on Friday. Finally, the region’s first fueling station realized its plans to supply its customers with the biodiesel produced from domestic renewable resources like plant oils, animal fats and used cooking oil. Now, it offers fleet and retail access to blended biodiesel and other alternative fuels in the region. The move will go on to promote clean transportation since biofuel doesn’t involve harmful emissions when compared to other alternative fuels.

The PRCC has installed three above ground fuel tanks within the Pittsburgh region via this initiative. These fuel tanks are capable of supplying any blend level of biodiesel.
