Green Park DIA to develop into world’s greenest parking facility

Canada-based Greenscape Capital Group Inc. has partnered with Propark America to build the world’s greenest parking facility, a 4,200-stall parking lot servicing Denver International Airport. Dubbed as Green Park DIA, the $18.6 million project will incorporate various eco-friendly aspects in its construction and sustenance as well.

Why will it be the world’s greenest?

The green project, located at 8100 Tower Road in Commerce City, will offer an outdoor parking underneath a covered canopy and an indoor valet parking within a climate-controlled structure. Touting an on-site solar farm, wind turbines, solar charging stations for EVs and a methane purification refueling station, the parking facility will seek to obtain LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Moreover, there’ll be porous pavements, natural landscaping and energy efficient LED lighting all over the parking facility.

Financial Aspects:

While Greenscape is the major shareholder with 90 percent ownership rights, Propark will manage the project and will own the rest of investments. The company expects net operating income of about $5.1 million a year, on sales of up to $19 million a year. Prices for the new parking complex will start at $8.95 per day, according to the developers.
