Green Architecture: Globe Eco-hub flaunts eco-friendly Arabic design

Arabic architecture presents the varied images of curved domes, globular canopies and inherently smoothed edifices. It’s very much alive and thriving even now, though it has appended another feature, i.e. sustainability to it. Accordingly, the futuristic city center of Modiin in Israel, dubbed the Globe Ecological Hub, encompasses all these attributes touting grass-roofed eco-domes and green surroundings.

Designer Zvika Tamari of Team Architects makes sure that the city center caters to the modern lifestyle and sustainability. So, it’s divided into a Museum Area for the avid, knowledgeable urbane class and an on-and-underground excavation site with open courts, boulevards and a recreation park. The modern architecture takes care of natural light and ample ventilation via smart sensors. Moreover, photovoltaic cells covering the insulated layer of grass frame bring the electricity costs further down. Recycled water is used for drinking and irrigation purposes.

Even though it’s a concept as of now, the blueprints certainly portend a green Arabic structure craving for completion.
