Fuller Paper Palace One made from recycled paper gears up for solar tour

We believe you’ve not forgotten the Temple of Trash we showcased a month ago. Now, budging a little from the sequel with yet another inclusion, i.e. the Fuller Paper Palace One, the building made from 7 tons of recycled wastepaper is a much=refined version of exemplary creativity. It will be displayed at 1 Continental Drive, Arizona, on Saturday as part of the Solar & Sustainable Building Tour, sponsored by the Arizona Solar Energy Association and the Arizona Solar Center.

Barry J. Fuller, maker and owner of the Palace One, mixed recycled paper with clay, crushed glass, fly ash and cardboard to form his building material known as papercrete. The curved walls, parapets, copper porch roof, glass block windows, MDF doors and the papercrete roof are a “must see” for sure. The paper construction is extremely energy-efficient since the power consumption is the minimum possible.
