Eco-building design for Leadville Avenue demands city council’s approval

If things go well, we will soon see an eco-friendly building at the southwest corner of Leadville Avenue and Sixth Street. A team of efficient designers came together to create a brilliant design that was presented in front of the Ketchum City Council for consideration. Their project, which will go on a lot owned by the city, now used for a parking lot behind Memory Park on Main Street has plans for a four-story office building.

The green structure on the city-owned property is said to be constructed between 15,000 and 25,000 square feet of land with a two-story underground parking structure providing 160 spaces. According to the proposed design, the four-story office building will have LEED-certified design, receding stacked floors, solar panels on roof, green roofs and 10,000 feet of exterior garden space. The proposal presented to the Ketchum City Council on Monday left all the members thoroughly impressed. Seems like the aim to create office space for businesses focusing on energy efficiencies will soon fulfilled.
