Sony adds a brand new mini notebook to its name, taking its green credentials to the next level. Dubbed the Sony Vaio W series “Eco Edition” mini notebook, the 10.1-inch cute gadget will be unveiled at the CES 2010 at the Wynn Las Vegas today. The company claims that during the production of this mini netbook, nearly 10% of CO2 emissions were reduced in comparison to the previous W Series models.
In order to please the eco-conscious consumers the new Sony Vaio W Eco Edition makes use of recycled plastics parts, along with the paper-saving e-manual, the energy efficient Atom processor (the N450). The trendy, light mini notebook also features bright, clear mercury-free VAIO Display with LED backlight, saving power. It is transported in a carry bag, rather than cardboard to save the environment. Other specifications the mini notebook incorporates are Windows 7 Starter Edition, Bluetooth, webcam, Wi-Fi, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard disk drive, up to 8.5 hours battery life. The eco-friendly Vaio W Notebook is scheduled to hit the market in the beginning of February 2010.
