Now, the US has another arm in its arsenal to obstruct the spread of deadly bird flu virus. Actually, US government has approved a water-based foam to kill chickens in case bird flu outbreak occurs.
Experts believe that this water-based foam is capable of killing infected birds more effectively than traditional carbon dioxide. The good thing about this water-based foam is that it can be used to kill the infected birds even in the structurally unsound buildings.
This water-based foam is safer for the workers as compared to the carbon dioxide gas. Expressing the same view, Marty Zaluski, North Carolina Agriculture Department veterinarian said:
Using gas was not safe for people, it was more intensive as far as personnel and it was not as humane for the animals.
