Teenage Pregnancy: A Balancing act between law and family

The issue here is not about changing the right to confidentiality law for teens, less than 16 years of age, but it is about educating both teenagers and their parents regarding safe sex. The law brings into the forefront the measures taken to prohibit sexually transmitted disease. Therefore, the law is right in its place. However, the parents should have enough interaction with their children during teenage about sensitive issues like sex, so that an unpleasant situation does not arise in their kid’s life. Another option can be that the doctors should not go for teenage abortion, before consulting the parents of the girl concerned. This would be balancing between family and the legal framework as far as the steps taken for safe sex is concerned.
