Squirrel dies of Plague in Morro Bay in California

A squirrel has died in Morro Bay which later tested positive for plague. California San Luis Obispo Health officials warn the residents to keep away from rodents. The plague transmits to rodent by fleas. If it is contracted with humans it can proved dangerous.

California has thirty-nine established human cases of plague since 1970. A swollen gland in the neck, armpits and groin is the symptom of plague in human. If it spots, early, antibiotics can treat it.
