The device is made of two ‘ thermoplastic’ components – one for the upper jaw, one for the lower – which are placed in warm water and then mould into the correct shape of the individual’s teeth.The user then has a choice of five positions in which to connect the two parts, each bringing the jaw forward by a certain distance. This position helps keep the airways open.
