Skin care ingredients you should avoid using together

Skin products you use hoping they will make your skin look fabulous. However, not all skin products are healthy as they contain harmful chemicals, or a bad combination of ingredients. Some beauty ingredients do not go well with others; their combination makes a beauty product harmful. You should always check the ingredients of a beauty product to ensure it does not have such harmful combinations. Following are some of the combinations of skin care ingredients you should avoid:

Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid

Skin care

Not all acids leave a similar impact on your skin, so using them as a combination to treat a particular skin condition can be your biggest mistake. For instance, glycolic acid removes dead skin cells because it is a very effective skin exfoliator. On the other hand, the salicylic acid is a good treatment that cures acne. Used individually, both are superb for your skin but their combination might leave your dull and dry.

Retinoids and Alpha Hydroxy Acids

Loaded with anti-aging and blemish fighting properties, both retinoid and alpha hydroxy acid increase skin cell turnover. However, if you use their combination, it might leave your skin dry and you will feel irritation. It disturbs your skin moisture balance, so never use them simultaneously.

Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide

Treat acne

Benzoyl peroxide is a very popular ingredient of many acne fighting creams and solutions. Many skin products contain a combination of vitamin C and benzoyl peroxide, which is not quite a beneficial combination. The combination does not suit every skin type, so beware.

You know retinol is of paramount importance for your skin health but if you choose to apply multiple layers of retinol, you will harm your skin. Say, you apply a retinol serum on your skin, and then you top it with a retinol cream. You would not experience anything good but an inflaming skin. Always use one at a time.

Retinol and Vitamin C

Vitamin C and Retinol are both very strong agents and help make your skin healthy. However, you should never use them as a combination on your skin, or else you might have your skin burning or feeling too dry. If you find them both in majority of skin products, pick the one that has low concentrations of both these ingredients.

There are ample of skin care ingredients but this does not mean you can combine them and use. Some beauty ingredients if combines make such a bad combination that could harm your skin bad.
