Say good-bye to impotence with new gene therapy!

Arnold Melman, a professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and other researchers, have targeted impotency, which is fast becoming a common problem. In this study, these researchers have come up with a new study after identifying a gene responsible for impotence.

The good thing about this new treatment is that it is quite different from treatments available to treat impotence. Whereas using drugs like Viagra is to be preplanned, this new treatment makes it possible to keep up virility just by having two injections a year. Polishing out the chief characteristic of this new treatment researchers said, ‘One of the attractions of the new drug – Maxi K – is that men have just two injections a year and do not have to worry about taking pills. They can just forget they have a problem.’

In the initial study, this treatment was tested on 11 impotent men and it was found that about 2 of these men had positive effect of this treatment.

This new therapy may no doubt come as a shining hope for those men who are unable to intercourse successfully. But I think it would also not be right to go only for this drug because through several studies it has got affirmed that impotence sprouts not only due to physical reasons but there can be psychological reasons too behind this and about 30 percent of the cases of impotence comes out just due to psychological reasons. Therefore, it would be right to know what the root cause of the problem is before relying on any treatment.

Moreover, studies conducted earlier have also come out with such impotence drugs but later on most of them turned out ineffective. However, it would not be right to loose hope because only after testing this drug real opinion can be made.
