Greater Manchester Strategic Health Authority has chosen the Royal Bolton Hospital as a new bowel cancer center in the U K. The huge investments are taking place in the screening services at the endoscopy unit of the hospital. It will hopefully start by January next year. There will be about fourteen screening units in Britain, but the Royal Bolton Hospital will have the most advance equipments. Each year this hospital will get about £750,000 to test the risk groups.
Dr George Lipscomb, consultant gastroenterologist at the hospital, says that,
we already have good record of accomplishment in screening of conditions. This will allow us to help more patients with greater resources.
