Romania’s veterinary and animal health authority, Alina Monea, got confirmed reports from London that the H5 virus sent for testing yesterday has turned out to be an H5N1 virus. Now, it is officially announced that Romania is under the bird flu threat.
Romanian authorities has culled at least 45,000 birds by now and have ordered 45,000 doses of Tamiflu from the the Swiss drug company, Roche Holding. This shows that Europe is more sensible than the Asian continent in taking feasible measures to contain bird flu. Read More: Reuters
