Peplin, a Brisbane based company, is developed a typical gel to treat cancer. It can be polished on the skin to treat certain types of skin cancer. The PEP005 Topical gel was used for two consecutive days on basal cell carcinomas patients. The process cleared up a major part of BCC, the most common type of skin cancer.
Peplin has made two trials on 60 people in Australia in 2002. Later it identified the responsible molecules and formulated the gel. Peplin hopes to start phase-three studies of the gel later this year.
