Mumps outbreak already affected more than 200 in Canada

People living in Canada — say ‘no’ if your friend wants to share a sip from your drink or a bite from your food and also to your lover who desires a kiss from you. This may appear to be indecent but it is perhaps the best way to keep ‘yourself’ away from the disease — mumps. The disease outbreak in Canada has already spread quickly enough to have infected more than 200 people, according to local media.

Recognized for several centuries, more than 200,000 cases occurred each year in the United States before the vaccine was discovered.

Once infected by the disease, via coughing, sneezing, sharing drinks and food and kissing, it can pull you down for about seven days before symptoms appear, followed by up to nine days after.

The consequences of catching mumps can be serious! Causing swollen and tender glands and other flu-like symptoms, the disease can lead to sterility, deafness and viral meningitis.

So, take all necessary precautionary measures to keep yourself away from the painful disease.
