Kiss and make up to prevent heart disease!

Heartbreak can be more literal than you think.
save your marriage save your heart
A path breaking research by Roberto De Vogli has concluded that people in a bad marriage or negative relationship are many times more likely to develop symptoms of heart disease than their ‘socially happy’ counterparts.

The study was conducted on the basis of questionnaires filled by British civil servants over 40 years of age. After controlling for other confounding factors like age, sex, marital status, hypertension and diabetes, the results indicated that people who were part of unhappy or failing marriages were 34% more likely to develop cardiac problems. This category also included people who were single but were not on good terms with their friends. Such people are more prone to depression, stress and aggressive behavior, all of which affect cardiac health adversely. Our relationship with spouse and friends seems to have a direct effect on our quality of life.
According to psychiatrist Robert Allen, the statistics was not significantly high but nevertheless it should be addressed as a cause of cardiovascular diseases and working on relationships may actually keep our hearts safe. Overall, the study proves that we Homo sapiens are social animals of the truest kind!
