A healthy and glowing skin is everyone’s dream. While you do every possible thing to maintain a good skin, you end up using beauty products available in the market that are usually full of chemicals. 1. Eat healthy: This is the main effort one has to make towards achieving a good skin. Vitamins play a vital role in balancing the skin health. Vitamins A, C and E are the main components for a healthy skin. Vitamin A is said to reduce oil production. Foods high in vitamin A content include sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, carrots, milk, eggs and apricots. Leafy green vegetables and soya help to avoid acne. Vitamin C helps in making skin support structure i.e. collagen. Oranges, kiwi, apples, strawberries, grape fruit, whole grain cereals and red peppers contain vitamin C. Vitamin E, present in nuts, avocados and blackberries, have antioxidants. Nuts and salmon are high in omega-3 fatty acids. They also help in absorbing vitamins and reducing skin inflammations. Red meat has high iron content. So, it is good for meat lovers.

2. Exercise daily: Working out gives you a healthy and toned body. Exercise helps to improve blood circulation and replenishes oxygen in cells. Quiet interesting to know, endorphins produced during cardio-exercise protects cell damage.

3. Drink lots of water: Eat fruits and vegetables as they contain water also. Drink water to remain hydrated.

4. Steam your face: Any one can try this. Boil water and remove it from the stove. Keep your face over the steam for 10-15 minutes. This will open the pores. It is a right time for face mask.

5. Use face mask: Apply face mask twice a week for sensitive skin. Oily skin can apply mask regularly. Many fruits and vegetables can be selected for preparing it. Banana nourishes the skin, so better try banana for dry and normal skin. Mash banana and mix yoghurt, honey and oat in it. Blend it well and apply it on your damp face. Leave for 15 minutes and then wash your face with warm water. For instant radiance of your skin, you can go for another homemade face mask. Rub rice on your damp face for 3 minutes in a circular motion. Then, mix honey and pomegranate juice and apply on your face. After 15 minutes, remove it using warm damp washcloth. If you want to store face mask for future use, you can do it easily. Mix 1 cup Kaolin, ¼ cup corn flour, 1 tsp finely ground rolled oats, 1 tsp dried skimmed milk powder, I banana and two drops of essential oil and blend the mixture well. Store the mixture in a fridge. When you want to use it, take 1 tsp of face mask with 1 tsp of skim milk powder and a drop of essential oil. Apply it on face and after 15 minutes rinse using warm water.
