Fusarium Keratitis outbreak in 33 states in US


Fusarium Keratitis, associated with the use of contact lenses out broke in several states in US. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is started its investigation on the cause of this outbreak. CDC has reports of 122 confirmed cases, 15 probable cases and 60 cases under study from thirty-three states in U S.

The risk of keratitis from contact lenses is low. However, contact lens users who experience odd reddishness, sting, ripping, shadowy vision, discharge or puffiness should go to medical experts without delay.
