Doctors call for right to kill severely disabled newborn babies!

Demand aroused by doctors of UK, asking the right to kill ‘severely disabled’ newborn babies, may taste bitter to most of us since it seems breaking the shackles of ethics and shows thumb to humanity. No doubt, if we look at it giving preference to the human in us, it comes out as a crime against innocent infants. But I want to veer away the attention of the world community to the sufferings of the parents of the severely disabled kids and also to the sufferings of children who are severely disabled.

No doubt, the statement that everyone has the right to live seems irrefutable unless it flies in the world of philosophy but as soon as it touches the hard and harsh surface of reality then it blows away like a water bubble. No doubt, the love of parents for their kids is peerless and their elation touches the sky when they see their kids enjoying their lives. But for a moment ponder over the opposite situation too and churn out the conclusion that what kind of pain or fire they pass through when they find their disabled kids confined to bed, breathing but lying like defunct dodos. Then you will automatically come to know that for them every day brings plethora of mental torture and life becomes a harsh reality for them.

No doubt, life is a sweet present, but only for those who are capable of tasting it. But would you deny that the person who is unable to taste life, unable to smell the redolence of life is really a burden for himself and for the people who surround him. If ‘Euthanasia’ is allowed in UK, so it would be better for such severely disabled infants who lead a dead life and die every moment slowly but steadily. I can dare say that those who oppose Euthanasia; they are blind to the harsh realities of life and uncertainties that hangs over the lives of such disabled kids like the sword of Damocles. Life is not less than an incubus for such disabled kids, for their parents and for the society, which engulfs them.

Moreover, the concept of ‘Euthanasia’ is not new and it is on the move in many countries and when we talk of such countries the name of Holland comes first in the list.

I would like to wrap up just by saying that there is nothing wrong if mercy killing is permitted in UK for ‘severely disabled’ newborn babies but only if it is the last choice for a suffering citizen.
