Diet files: Breaking dietary myths

It is high time we break down the myths relating to a healthy diet. A balanced diet is well balanced with all the nutrients in it. It is not about isolating a particular nutrient from your diet but it is minimizing the portion containing that nutrient. An article on healthy food choices elaborates on the need of every nutrient in our body. While Atkins diet recommends on a low carb diet, article suggests an intake of 25gm of fiber per day and fibers are available in carbohydrates. So, it is very important to have whole grain breads, cereals, pastas, raw fruits and vegetables everyday which on the other hand will reduce obesity. Yea, but one has to be careful about not taking carbs in form of rice, which does more bad than good to the body.

One has to be careful about consuming excess of sodium, which might lead to high blood pressure and weaken bones. Sugar is like salt an excess of which leads to chronic illness.Similar is the case with fat intake, which should not exceed 30% per day.

We know all these facts, but when their implementation comes to question we, implement it like fools. No I am not talking like a strict preacher,I only recommend you guys to count the calories and ingredients mentioned on the fast food packets you buy every day and them make a healthy food choice. Thanks Nadraszky
