China bans sale of 'methotraxate'

drug for leukemia 5248
In another effort to improve its image in the world market, China’s watchdog for drugs have banned any kind of sale of a drug used to treat acute leukemia and rheumatoid arthritis. China is toiling hard after worldwide criticism for its killer fake products. China has been taking a lot of steps to ensure that its products are properly regulated and no further problems arise.

The step comes as the U.S. regulators have ordered ban, recall or restriction of three more Chinese-made products, which can be dangerous to children as they contain high toxin levels. The drug called ‘methotrexate’ has been banned as it caused adverse reactions in young leukemia patients in a region of China. The ban came through the website of FDA. The statement said, ‘Some of the children have felt pain in their legs and some have experienced difficulty in walking after being injected with the methotrexate drug numbered 070403A and 070403B. Local drug regulators have been ordered to re-evaluate the drug.

China’s industries have being poorly regulated, especially the pharmaceutical one. Thus, it is used by companies to cash in the profits by faking drugs or ingredients. Not only the companies related to food are suffering, also the jewelry industry is in a devastated condition as U.S. in its latest action recalled Chinese jewelry claiming that the jewelry can lead to lead poisoning. For China to keep prospering and regain the lead in exports, it is very necessary to step up its efforts and do everything to gain a clean rapport. It doesn’t need reforms and stricter rules in one but every sector. The country needs to clean up its whole system and mechanism so as t ensure that it doesn’t loose its ground of becoming a global power.
