Nitrate-rich vegetables found to reduce blood pressure

Chemicals in green vegetables reduce the chances of high blood pressure.A study says these chemicals are responsible for keeping blood vessels healthy.

Past studies have proved that a diet rich in fruit and vegetables can reduce blood pressure. But it has been difficult to find out exactly which chemicals are responsible for reducing the blood pressure according to the online edition of health magazine WebMD.

Blood pressure is very common today, both high and low, and is playing havoc with health of millions lingering with various reasons, including mainly too much stress and depression. However, in a major breakthrough, scientists at the Swedish school of sport and health sciences proved that short-term nitrates supplementation, with diet rich in nitrate-rich vegetables – such as spinach, lettuce, or beetroot can have a dramatic effect suppressing blood pressure abnormalities. The researchers claim to have found nitrates in vegetables like spinach and lettuce.
