How do arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death occur? Researchers, to better understand such phenomenon, have developed unique chemical dyes. These dyes made it possible to see what the naked eye has never seen before! – action potentials, or voltage changes, of cardiac cells. It too includes those “events” that occur deep inside the heart, those that trigger and determine the pace of heartbeats. It is eventually a ground breaking achievement.
Congratulations and thanks to the team from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Carnegie Mellon University who contributed in this phenomenal medical developments.
