3 Natural remedies to deal with underarm itch

1. Aloe vera gel and baking soda treatment

Aloe vera is a versatile herb which is found to have a plethora of medicinal and cosmetic properties. The anti -microbial properties of Aloe vera will help in healing the irritated skin in the underarm region, thereby putting an end to the uncomfortable itching sensation. To quicken the healing process and to make the treatment a more effective one, you can also combine Aloe vera with baking soda. Apart from its anti microbial properties, it is seen that baking soda is also helpful in absorbing the excess moisture from the underarms, thereby helping to reduce the itching sensation.

In order to perform an Aloe vera and baking soda treatment, you will have to combine half a tablespoon of Aloe vera gel with 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Stir the mixture thoroughly, until it has obtained a smooth composition. The mixture thus prepared, is to be gently massaged onto the armpit regions and is to be left untouched for an hour. After the stipulated time period, do rinse off the mixture using cold water and pat dry with a clean towel. It is recommended that you refrain from washing your underarms with soap, for the next few hours. However, if you experience any reddening of the underarm skin, then you should immediately clean the area with a medicated soap. The Aloe vera baking soda mixture thus prepared, will remain unspoilt for 48 hours, when it is stored in a refrigerator.

2. Jojoba oil and garlic remedy

To treat the condition of underarm itching, one can follow a natural remedy which makes use of jojoba oil and garlic. The healing properties of garlic have been known from time immemorial. Similarly, jojoba oil is another product which is widely used in the treatment of infections and various other skin conditions.

To treat the itch, you will have to mix together 3 tablespoons of jojoba oil with 2 cloves of garlic in a blender. Apply the thick paste obtained on your underarms and leave it untouched for 30 minutes. At the end of the stipulated time, do wash off the paste with cool water and by using a medicated soap. Towel dry the area thoroughly, so that no trace of moisture remains. The jojoba oil-garlic paste can be refrigerated and used for 48 hours after the preparation. For evident and quick results, it is recommended that you follow this treatment on a daily basis.

3. Olive oil and basil oil remedy

A mixture of olive oil and an essential oil like basil oil is found to be useful in curing the condition of underarm itching. To use this natural remedy, mix together 4 teaspoons of olive oil with a quarter teaspoon of basil oil. Soak a cotton ball in this oil mixture and and dab it onto your underarm region. Clean the area after 20 minutes by rinsing with cold water, followed by pat drying with a towel. The remaining oil mixture can be stored in an airtight container and can be used up to a period of one month of its preparation.
