1.2 million US kids with ADHD left undiagnosed or untreated!

9 of us kids have adhd

If your child is hyperactive and inattentive in his works, your strict control or harsh words may not do any good, but only clinical or medical help! Yes, he might be suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Do you know, nearly 9 percent of American children, especially during their preschool and early school years suffer from the disease?

This adds up to 2.4 million children in the United States alone! This eventually means that in a classroom of 25 to 30 children, it is likely that at least one will have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

This new study revealing the disappointing and worrisome statistics, straightaway rebuffs the perception that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is over-diagnosed and over-treated.

The landmark new study rather shows that children found to be suffering from the disorder are actually facing the opposite problem, i.e they are either under-diagnosed or under-treated.

With girls more likely to be undiagnosed, an estimated 1.2 million children with the disorder are left undiagnosed or untreated , among some 2.4 million children between the ages of 8 and 15 meeting the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder criteria.

So, this is no rare a disorder and with such symptoms apparent, don’t hesitate to resort to medical help. Unfortunately, only 32 percent of the 2 million child-victims get the medication they need.
