Sony is renowned for good quality music players and it has launched a much anticipated walkman mp3 player in the market. The walkman is an A series mp3 player with great features. It has a super responsive 2.8â capacitive touch screen which makes it very easy and enjoyable to browse through the music collection and other file folders. Being just 75g it is very portable and light enough to carry around in hand while on the run. There are a few solid buttons for controlling volume and tracks. It has an inbuilt FM and can play almost every format of sound. It has an elegant look and a sophisticated design. The new range of walkman comes with beautiful looking smooth plastic case and has a sleek look as it is only 9.3mm thick which makes it very attractive. The interface is not much different from other Sony walkmans and is very comfortable to use.

High points
The Sony NWZ-A866 has SenseMe application which turns it into a karaoke and the user can sync music into different moods. It also comes with Clear Bass which enhances the bass performance and reduces distortion at high volume. Clear stereo provides channel separation for a better experience. A 5 band equalizer increases the pleasure of music on this device. Sony walkman is bundled with EX300 headphones which make music listening a lovely pleasure on this device.
Low points
Sony NWZ-A866 having so many great features however has some drawbacks too. This walkman doesnât offer wifi connectivity or scores of applications. Another flaw is that you canât play 3d games on this walkman. Although slim and having a good touch interface it is no match for iPod touch. It also lacks an advanced operating system which means it canât survive long in future. While as the back cover has a tough, light metallic finish the area around screen and on the sides is plastic coated metal which attracts fingerprint marks or greasy marks. The absence of a micro SD slot is irritating as it is used in most of the devices today. The memory of the device cannot be expanded which is disliked by most of the music collectors.

Sony NWZ-A866 walkman is priced at £219 which is slightly high in the market when compared to other products of its class. However a music lover will not mind spending a bit more money if he/she gets good quality music though a few bucks less would have made the sale of this product very high and very fast.
