Grow with Dr Prem

An astoundingly lightweight Andriod phone is on the stands! Samsung’s Epic 4G with its touchscreen and 4G features has the cool features of the iPhone without the ‘marketing noise’ that accompanies it. With never-before-seen responsiveness and ultra light design, the multimedia experience on this phone is bound to be great.

High points

Dr Prem Tech and Web Services
  1. The 8 megapixel camera makes it the best in the class for photography and video shooting. The video in HD resolution is jag free and very smooth.
  2. It has a battery life that lasts almost a day, which is impressive for a phone with such a large display.
  3. Samsung’s Media Hub is its alternative to iTunes of Apple. The progressive download facility allows you to start watching even before the download is complete.
  4. An aggregator of a Social Hub connects you via Twitter, Facebook, text and email.
  5. Very light and ‘pocket friendly’.
  6. The touchscreen is sensitive and responsive.
  7. Good voice and call quality.

Low points

  1. The WVGA resolution is not as great as the QHD 960 x 540 resolution which is being offered by HTC and Motorola.
  2. The camera flash is LED based and the flash is weaker compared to a Xenon based flash.
  3. Though 4G is suggestive of speed, WiMAX is less speedy compared to what the name 4G may suggest. It has an average download speed of 4Mbps and an average upload speed of 1.8Mbps which is not that impressive.
  4. The TouchWiz interface by Samsung could have been made a tag better for the Google OS.
  5. The phone has a plastic build and some have complained of the call quality too.
  6. Some of the widgets lack the finesse in their finish. (e.g. the calendar screen).
  7. It’s Pocket unfriendly when it comes to size! (But that is a price for the great display).

Price

The starting price for this phone which on an average scores (on a scale of 10) 8 for design, 9 for features and 9 for performance is $150.
