Galaxy S II has become the world’s most popular smartphone in no time and Samsung is ready to cash in the advantages this has to offer. The plan is to launch a tweaked version of Galaxy S II, named as Blaze 4G to be available exclusively with T-Mobile USA. The device will unlock the entertainment potential that T-Mobile’s 4G-enabled network has to offer. Samsung is also expected to launch Galaxy S3 in Mobile World Congress to be held on February 28 this year. Blaze 4G will have HSPA+ 42 technology, which offers twice the speed of HSPA+ 21 devices.This translates to much faster streaming of videos or TV shows on your phone. T-Mobile showcased the phone in this year’s CES (Consumer Electronic Show).

Blaze 4G is expected to come with 1.5GHz dual-core processor with a Snapdragon chipset Adreno 220 GPU with 1GB RAM. It comes with a 16/32GB storage with external microSD card expandable up to 32 GB. It comes with a 8 megapixel LED flash camera that records at 1080p. The front-facing camera would be of 2 megapixels. The display would be a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED with a resolution of 800 x 480 and pixel density of 206 pp.

However, the OS that it would come with is still unknown. Samsung recently launched its Nexus phone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and Galaxy S3 is rumored to be released on the same platform. This increases the possibility of Blaze 4G also running on the same platform. Blaze will be loaded with the features that Galaxy S-series phones enjoy such as the touch-sensitive controls, TouchWiz UI, proximity sensor etc. Recently, there has been a buzz regarding the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology that would give you an identity and you can execute transactions such as booking tickets online, sharing contacts, or playing multilayer games online. It is expected to replace and Wi-Fi in the near future and Blaze 4G will support this technology.

In terms of design, there are a few changes such as the rounded corners and curvy edges. The biggest USP for Blaze 4G is HSPA+ 42 data speeds that would offer you an unmatchable entertainment experience on your phone. T-Mobile wants to make it easy for the customers with easy and affordable monthly plans at unmatchable speeds. There hasn’t been much information revealed regarding the availability of device in US, but it is expected to be launched sooner as S3 is also to be launched later this February. There is also no formal information about the price, but you can expect it to come at around $200 with a two year contract with T-Mobile.
