For mobile powerhouse wielding road warriors, a good quality and portable mouse is an utmost necessity. This is exactly Logitech Wireless Mouse M325 comes into play and steals the show. Combining a bestselling shape with Logitech’s micro-precise technology, Logitech Wireless Mouse M325 gives you a better online navigating experience. Let us take a close look at the mouse.

Features

Although laptops come with touchpads for navigations, current iterations of operating systems are not exactly created with touch based controls in mind. Touchpads work as a stopgap method and while some of them give a good mix of comfort and performance, nothing beats the ergonomics of an actual mouse. When you are on the move, a large and chubby desktop mouse is not a very good option and Logitech Wireless Mouse M325 is built keeping exactly this thought in mind. The M325 is an ambidextrous mouse with rubber grips on both the sides for better handling. Though pretty small, it fits reasonably well with most hands and feels comfortable. The upper side of the mouse is fitted with glossy plastic cover with customizable prints on top of it. The mouse is available in numbers of different colors and printed patterns. The prints have interesting patterns and will be the sole reason for purchase for a handful of people.

The backside of the mouse, namely the ground side has an on-off switch, mouse sensor and a sliding chamber for the single AA battery slot from which the mouse gets its juices. One can easily change the given AA battery when it drains out with a rechargeable one for more comfort. According to Logitech, a fully charged AA battery will have a battery life of whole 18 months, a claim that can’t be tested just now. The mouse comes with Logitech Unifying receiver, based on Logitech’s 2.4GHz RF technology which has effective ranges even up to 10 meters of distance and works effortlessly. The Unifying receiver works in a plug and play basis and gets detected at the boot up time of your computer.

Logitech Wireless Mouse M325 uses a 1000 dpi optical sensor which is a bit dated considering the fact that most of the newer mice these days are using more advanced laser variety of sensors. But keeping the price point in mind, the optical sensor used in the mouse is a value for money choice. Considering that, the mouse also works without glitches on most surfaces.

Logitech’s rubber finish on the scroll wheel is a small yet nice touch to the mouse which feels extremely comfortable to use, even for long durations.

Performance

As Logitech used an optical sensor with 1000dpi sensitivity, the mouse works in almost all regular surfaces except glass. Other than that, the tracking performance of the mouse is pretty good and works well most of the time. Logitech’s unifying receiver is also another plus point of the mouse as it can receive signals even from a distance of ten meters without significantly hampering the performances. Though untested, Logitech’s claimed battery life is more than enough for a product in this price range.

High points

1. Decent performance in a relatively lower price point.

2. Logitech’s signature small shape which doesn’t hamper productivity

3. Unifying receiver receives signals from ~10 meters range and can connect other Logitech products too.

4. Excellent battery life of 18 months on a single AA battery.

Low points

1. The mouse can be too small for large handed people and also uncomfortable for desktop like usage for long hours as it does not provide enough palm support.

2. Use of ‘dated’ optical sensor while rivals like Microsoft has already moved to more advanced laser based sensors.

3. No storage option for the unifying receiver on the mouse.

Price

Logitech Wireless Mouse M325 is available for $39.99 stateside.
