Hey, I got a new laptop so I am trying to use the hard drive from an earlier laptop running XP as an external storage devive for my new laptop which runs on Vista. I am trying to format old drive as an external USB-connected hard drive in Vista using Disk Management. But every time I am getting an error message: “The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Can anyone tell what should I do so that I can format external USB hard drive in Vista?
