As for the memory, the board is equipped with six triple channel DDR3 RAM slots supporting a maximum of either 24GB or 48GB. For secondary memory, Serial ATA 3.0 GB PCI ports provide faster hard disk performance.

Multimedia support is flawless with this board, along with video rendering capabilities mentioned above, the board is supplied with 10-channel audio subsystem, with 7.1 + 2 independent multi-streaming channels. On the back of the board, we can see six analog audio outputs, supporting most available surround sound audio system.

It’s designed conveniently with exclusive on-board controls for manual configuration, which allows overclocking for performance and gaming.

Incredibly, with all its features, the board is highly energy efficient. Additionally, it dissipates minimal heat while operating, with its four 4 pin fans and heatpipe cooling system.

Low points:

Although we have 2 Superspeed USB 3.0 ports, there is no support for the new USB 3.0 headeron this board.

The board is mainly designed to have a full featured configuration, which indicates that, the gaming and visual performance depends mostly on the graphics cards installed.

The user interface on BIOS is not much of something we could call a user friendly.

Price:

When it comes to the price, get ready for another shock, where the other motherboards of its range vary across $1200, Intel DX58SO2 can be owned at just $250. Evidently, it’s not the lowest in price you can get, but for sure, the best you can get in its class.
