AT&T has again registered record sales courtesy of the ‘magical’ iPhone exclusivity but, things may not remain the same since the Droid arrival is just around the corner and in the next quarter, VZW might take the cake. Also, the exclusivity will have to be relinquished in the future as FCC is reviewing this clause and the law should be in place by the time the Apple AT&T contract gets over. For the time being, AT&T has managed to activate 4.3 million handsets in the last quarter and 3.2 million of those handsets (which is 745 of the total count) were iPhones. Out of those 3.2 million sales, 1.28 million were new activations for AT&T. The current number of subscribers for AT&T is 81.6 million and out of these 25% are iPhone users, so you can image AT&T’s plight once the iPhone is gone.
