The original Mac Book Air was launched with too much of hype. It was believed that this new refreshing MacBook will take Apple’s concept of laptops to a very new level. The latest MacBook Air 13in measures 0.68” at the back whilst the front bezel measures 0.11”. Its body uses anodized aluminum construction method. It offers 4GB RAM 256 GB SSD and a 1.7 GHz dual Core i5 processor which is based on Sandy Bridge technology. The i5 processor boosts the ease of web surfing.

Weighing around 1.34 kg with a 13.3 inch wide screen which uses the new retina display similar to iPhone 4, it boasts a fantastic 1440×900 screen resolution. On the right edge of the MacBook, you get a Thunderbolt port, SD card slot and USB 2.0 slot; whereas the left edge gives you second USB, 3.5mm jack, a petite microphone port and a magnetized power socket. This 13in Macbook Air supports Bluetooth 4.0 and comes with integrated Apple Face Time webcam. The camera is much thinner than that on iPhone 4. Stereo speakers are placed in such a way that one can listen to the fine music coming out but the speakers remain invisible.The 2011 Edition of 13in comes with preinstalled OS X Lion, which is the most recent version of Mac OS.

High points:

The new MacBook Air 13in can prove to be a great companion for you. It doesn’t lack the performance and adopts the Intel gestated Thunderbolt technology. Overall, the MacBook Air 13in is light weight, offers excellent battery life with brilliant graphics performance. The screen resolution is quite higher than its predecessors and the touchpad is reasonably wide which offers accuracy. The battery is a 50 Watt unit and is non user replaceable. Battery performance is pretty good, with battery lasting up to seven hours and providing a standby time up to 30 days. Apple provides 90 days of free telephone support for the ease of customers. One year limited warranty is available with the option to extend it up to three years by purchasing the Apple care protection plan. These features make it Apple’s ultimate ultra portable laptop till date.

Low points:

The biggest flaw of MacBook Air 13in is its high price. As compared to its features, the price assigned for this MacBook is unreasonably high. Apart from this, it’s quite heavy for a 13” laptop, as it weighs 1.34 kg which is significantly a bit heavier compared to other net books of the same range.

The price range for MacBook Air 13in starts from $1,299 (128GB of flash storage) to $1,599 (256GB of flash storage).
