Things that tell you how to become the World’s Best Dad

As quoted by Michael Josephson, being a father is the most important role you will ever play and if you don’t do this well, no other thing you do really matters. Indeed, fathers are the first school for their children. As a father, it is your sole duty to set a good example for your child and to guide and motivate him so that he or she always chooses the correct path in life. Read further to know how you too can be an inspiring father.

  1. Be responsible

The day a child is born, it becomes your duty to take his/her responsibility without getting gender biased. The well being and comfort of your child irrespective of his gender and color should be your prime concern.

  1. Be a good disciplinarian

Just because you love your child doesn’t mean you will fall to his unnecessary demands and wishes or let him do whatever he wants. This is no way to show your intense affection. This will only leave you feel guilty in a long run. On the contrary, you should lovingly yet firmly oppose to your child’s misbehavior explaining him the ill consequences of his actions.

  1. Take out time

Children expect nothing but their parents to spend some time with them. Taking them out for a walk or to the park, movies and small picnic will bring your children closer to you. Talk to them, share with them and you will find yourself more updated about their life affairs. The major cause of the growing differences between the modern day youth and their parents is their lack of communication. We earn for our children but often tend to forget them completely.

  1. Learn to encourage

It is with some people that when they expect better, they simply criticize. However, this may not work in all the cases, especially in case of children. Encouraging your kids for even their simple efforts will boost their enthusiasm tremendously and they would definitely try to do better next time. Being a critic might end up only to give an opposite result.

  1. Practice what you preach

The most important trait of a good father is that he will not merely say but also do what he expects his children to do. If you want them to be honest you will need to practice honesty first, if you want them to be polite, it is you need to be polite with others. In a nut shell, you need to firmly stick to the values that you want your children to learn.

Remember, even though a child may not learn all that his parents wanted him to or he may have some other dreams for his life different from what they had planned, a good father always loves him unconditionally and that’s what makes this relationship extremely special.
