Vodafone is indeed going green as is evident from the unveiling of its new Stoke-on-Trent call center. The design team of RPS Architects has crammed the green building with daylight-controlled lighting, rainwater harvesting and wholly recyclable steel and mineral wool in designing it.
The neat design allows sufficient space for 450 people in its South Hall and 475 in the North Hall. Up-to-the-minute facilities include a café, red breakout pods with fully fitted kitchen areas, showers and changing facilities for bicycle users and midday joggers, a shop for workers, a courtyard and recreation areas. Stored rainwater is used to flush the toilets and to water the greenery in large open-plan areas.
