Gadget makers have begun sharing their plans of unveiling some environmentally friendly electronics as we near the CES 2010. SilverPac, the maker of digital picture frames and other media electronics, will introduce its high-tech thermostat called SilverStat 7 at the event. The seven-day programmable thermostat device features a 7-inch touch-screen, Smart Energy In-Home Display (IHD) with some dedicated heating and cooling controls.

Seeks to promote energy efficiency:

While providing customers with an instant data on their ongoing energy usage and utility pricing on their networked IHD concept, the device encourages reductions in peak energy demand. Subsequently, the user can turn off or reschedule the usage to realize energy and budget savings.

Salient Features:

Other features of the advanced home climate control system include the Windows CE with embedded Intel’s Atom processor, a IEEE 802.15.4 wireless interface for electricity usage info, and built-in speakers for playing FM radio. The device can also be used as a calendar.
