Lite-On Green Energy Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Taiwan-based electronic component and product maker Lite-On Technology has decided to go big with renewable energy business this year. The company has started providing PV system integration services that consist of engineering, procurement and construction. With its contribution to clean power, LOGT expects to get orders for a total installation capacity of 30-50MWp in 2010. Out of the total installation capacity, nearly 15MWp will have to be mounted before the end of 2010. The company has a policy of adopting Taiwan-made silicon-based or thin-film PV modules for its projects.

Meeting up with its 30-50MWp expectation, LOGT has already signed for investment to install a 1.25MWp PV system on the roof of the Fritz Walter World Cup Stadium in Kaiserslautern, in addition to a 812KWp PV system at Michelin’s factory in Homburg. The PV system that will be installed and operated at the stadium will produce 1,050kWh of energy each year, while the one at Michelin’s factory will have a capacity of generating 1,700kWh of electricity annually. The company claims to complete both the projects in the first quarter of 2010. Apart from these two projects, LOGT has nearly 20 projects to install grid-connected PV systems on crop farms in China to its name.
