It’s believed, one should always harness the heat and then strike the iron real hard. In the same manner, kids are taught best when they are still in their developmental stage. What they play with is what they visualize and what they mold into. At times, the manufacturer comes up with certain wacky stuffs that can prove fatal for the fragile mind of tiny tots. Here, we have shortlisted some of the shabbiest and most controversial toys which were slammed widely. Let’s have a look.

1. Reborn Doll: Over the top ‘resemblance’ triggered comic rescues

What would be your first reaction if you find a baby lying senseless? You might raise an alarm and rush him to the nearest health center. Oz cops did the same eventually to discover it’s not a human baby but a mere doll. This doll even took cops by surprise in USA, when they smashed a Hummer’s window only to realize it was a Reborn Doll.

2. Grand Theft Auto: Inspired by the game, kid rams his family’s car

After missing his school bus, a 6 year old boy took out his family car on his own. The kid, in fact covered six miles before finally crashing onto an embankment and utility pole. According to reports, the boy confessed to cops that he learnt driving by playing games like Grand Theft Auto, Monster Jam Series etc. The boy was sent to the protective custody and his parents were slapped with a child endangerment case.

3. Gay Bob: Planet’s first gay doll

Launched in 1977, Gay Bob was tagged as the world’s first gay doll. This doll stood 13 inches tall, blonde hair, pierced ears, flannel shirts, tight jeans and cowboy boots. Harvey Rosenberg, the designer stated the doll was anatomically correct and has been rolled out as a cross between Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

4. Lego Maori: Storming ethnic beliefs

Maoril tribal groups from New Zealand warned of legal action against Lego, the manufacturer. It was alleged that a few Maori names have been derived from certain Maori languages. Ever since the controversy wrought storm, the manufacturers discontinued using any such term which has slightest of the reference to any language.

5. The pole-dancing doll : Gyrating it wrong

This doll can rotate amidst blinking lights, disco ball and a pole. It has been tagged as one of the worst gift for a girl. Starting from the cover picture to its function, everything was too hard to digest for the mass. The theme of pole dance pushed the doll into the dubious list of all time controversial toys.

6. Shave the Baby: Sordidness at its worst

How on this earth can anyone even imagine a baby to be so hairy? This art stuff from an independent Art Space Raster features hairs sprouting from baby’s ankles, armpits, with the worst being hair around genitals! The serenity of a doll got choked awfully, thanks to the crude and vulgar design.

7. Adolf Hitler Action Figure Doll

The idea of messing with fiery German Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler back fired American doll maker Mike Fosella. Unveiled first at New York’s toy fair in 2001, the entire series of Nazi action figures and dolls stoked controversies. Obviously, not good or fit enough to find a place in kids closet.
