The Crown Estate has announced that the Bristol Channel will be the new site for wind farm development. The £100 million project is designed to provide UK with around a quarter of its electricity requirements. A whole list of the successful bidders for the third round of offshore permits, which will form part of a project, has been published recently.
The site of the major new wind farm development will have 250 turbines, each standing nearly 480 feet tall. Npower Renewables will operate the wind farm. This company generating power from the farm is a part of RWE Innogy, a firm that specializes in the planning, building and operating of renewable power facilities. This green initiative will not only meet with the energy requirement in UK, but will also give a chance to 60,000 people to make a living.
