Never ending love
Hidesaburo Ueno, a Professor at the University of Tokyo loved his dog Hachiko like a member of the family. In turn, Hachiko, an Akita breed dog set an example of love and sacrifices that makes this relationship memorable. When his owner was alive, Hachiko used to see him off in the morning at nearby Shibuya rail station and he always used to be there to receive him before the arrival of the train in the evening. One day, his master kept him waiting at the station as he had suffered from cerebral hemorrhage and had died. Death could not set them apart
Miguel brought Captain, a German shepherd dog as a present for his son. Captain disappeared when the family was attending Miguel’s funeral services. After a few days, a relative told the family that Captain somehow has managed to find the place where his master and a good friend Miguel Guzman was buried and he sleeps there by the side of his grave. Miguel passed away in 2006 and Captain insists on staying next to his grave. Wherever Captain is, he turns back at the grave by six in the evening and lies down on the grave of his master. Tommy did not have a single bite and no water for consecutive fifteen days as he was sitting guarding his master’s grave. His master Bhaskar Shri was a manual worker died in a car accident and Tommy had tears in his eyes since then. In Chennai, Southern India, Tommy spent fifteen days sitting at one single place day and night regardless of weather conditions. (Source)

John Grey was a night watchman with Edinburgh Police Force and Bobby, his dog was his partner spending most of his time sitting with his owner guarding the place. When John died, Bobby spent fourteen years sitting by his grave, mourning all the time. (Source)

Maria Marghertia Lochi in southern region of Puglia adopted twelve-year-old, Ciccio, a German shepherd who kept visiting the Santa Maria Assunta Church even long after her death. He used to accompany her to church when she was alive. (Source)

Humans are not the only ones who stands by their friends. In Zhangzhou, China, a dog kept standing by the dead body of his companion for almost six hours. He tried hard to wake up his partner who had died long back as was hit by a car. (Source)
