
According to a new report released by the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Rocky Mountain Climate Organization (RMCO), climate disruption is said to be the greatest threat ever to the national parks in the USA. There are 25 national parks most threatened by the climate change. The report – National Parks in Peril: The Threats of Climate Disruption – talks about the perils due to rising temperatures in 25 of the country’s 351 national parks. The human-caused climate change threatens them with impacts ranging from a disruption of ecosystems and a loss of wildlife to rising seas, stronger storms, and intolerable heat. The report even includes 32 recommendations of actions that can be taken to protect national parks and their resources from the climate disruption.
