Samsung Exhibit II 4G

Samsung and T-mobile officially announced a new version of Exhibit 4G. If you are one of the T-Mobile Android user and waiting for the successor of original Exhibit to come out, you are going to like this news. If you are a normal cellphone user, then this phone has all the features that take you to a new world of smartphones. The new version offers fast processor and larger screen than its predecessor, at a lower price. Overall, it is a very good Android phone for T-mobile customers who want to use 4G within the budgets.

What is it?

Samsung Explicit II is the second version of Explicit Smartphone, which will be the first 4G product sold in Walmart that users could buy without a contract. Visually, it resembles the Samsung Galaxy W.

Key features

It has modest features that start with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 1 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm processor, 3.7-inch sharp WVGA touch screen (480×800) and front as well as rear camera with flash. The rear camera has a resolution of 3 MP that makes it easy for you to take and share pictures/videos while the front one is VGA to help you in video calls. It gives you access to the T-Mobile TV for popular shows and movies, Microsoft exchange/Google services to sync emails, Samsung Media Hub for entertainment, 4G and of course, the Android apps market with more than 500,000 apps including Google maps and Gmail. The 4G access is what that makes it such a good deal because in other networks, it costs much more.

In addition to that, there will be common features like GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and T-Mobile’s HSDPA connectivity. The phone will also be equipped with a Micro SD card slot for an expandable memory of up to 32 GB and Wi-Fi hotspot ability to connect up to eight devices. Concluding, it provides a wide area of web browsing experience and entertainment possibilities on the America’s biggest 4G network.

The phone will be available only in marine blue color unlike the original that came in violet and black color. If you look at the dimensions, it is 4.54 x 2.35 x 0.45 (115 x 60 x 11 mm) and weighs 4.10 oz (116 g).

What’s innovative?

No other phone can offer 4G access and other features at such price. Apart from that, there is nothing new that we can talk about.

Price and availability

Samsung Exhibit is available with a price of $199.99 at most of the Walmart stores without any annual contract. People who want to go for a long-term tie with T-Mobile can get the phone by paying $29.99 with two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. If you do not want to purchase the mobile from Walmart, wait for some more days as it will be available on the official site of T-Mobile from and its own retail locations 2nd November 2011, but then you lose the opportunity to own the phone before your friends.

Accessories

Apart from the worthy accessories that come with the box, if you need to buy something there is plenty of it. You can buy in car power charger with micro USB ($39.99), travel charger with micro USB ($29.99), 3.5mm TV output cable ($19.99), Pouch/Cases ($9.99-17.99), and Bluetooth Headset ($39.99 to $99.99).

The up side

The price of the phone is comparatively low for a no-commitment device. Other advantages are the 4G access and good specifications.

The down side

With most powerful features and benefits, there are some downsides of the phone. The required monthly bills and data plans of T-Mobile are still pricey and can hit the pocket. Company has not stated whether the new model will get Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich, so you have look for other mobiles if you want latest software’s from Google. Looking at the specifications, you can easily see that the rear camera is not much effective because of the low resolution.

The bottomline

According to us, it is a good phone with medium specs. Although it hit the market soon after its prequel, this time we see more reliability. All the specifications and the price of the phone are good, except the rear camera. If you take it without the annual contract, it is definitely a good deal.
