Huawei’s latest Android device Vision is one of the ‘sexiest’ smartphones released by the Chinese firm so far. This high-end smartphone is loaded with modern features and it is expected that this device will emerge as a strong smartphone in future. The Vision runs Gingerbread 2.3 and features a 3D carousel user interface. The 3D interface is a modified version of Shell 3D launcher developed by SPB. The uni-body frame of this smartphone is made of aluminum. The thickness of this frame at its thinnest point is 9.9mm. The Vision weighs 121g and it sports a 3.7″ capacitive touchscreen. The 5MP camera fitted on the rear end of Vision features auto focus and LED flash. This camera records high quality videos as well. The Vision is powered by 1GHz processor.

What’s good?

The Vision is the first high-end handset launched by Huawei, which is well-known for manufacturing mid-range mobile phones. This smartphone runs Android Gingerbread OS. It has a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen. The unibody frame of Vision is made of aluminum alloy. This phone is powered by 1GHz MSM 8255 processor. It boasts of a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and auto focus. Vision features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It has 512MB RAM and 2GB ROM under its unibody frame. Weighing 121 grams, the look of this handset is sleek and stylish. The Vision has the slot for microSD card and it has mini USB port.

What’s not so good?

Going by the technical specifications unveiled by Huawei during the launch of Vision, we can say that this smartphone is good. But it remains to be seen whether it would be able to compete with the iPhone, Galaxy series handsets and the HTC’s high-end smartphones. Huawei could find a place in market by keeping a competitive price. As far as specs are concerned, the Vision is not as powerful as the HTC EVO 3D and Samsung’s Galaxy S II, but Huawei could attract customers by keeping the price of its Vision lesser than these devices. The aluminum frame can also prove to be a deterrent because many users do not prefer to buy smartphones with metal back.

Price and availability

The Huawei Vision was unveiled on August 3, 2011 and this device is now available for sale. It is already available in stores in some select markets. The Vision is expected to hit the Indian market in December. In UK, Huawei will start selling Vision early 2012.

Wrap-up

Huawei’s decision to launch the Vision shows that the Chinese firm has decided to enter into the high-end smartphone market. The look of the Vision is elegant and attractive. Though this phone lacks dual core power, the 1GHz processor makers Vision a powerful smartphone. With Gingerbread OS, the Vision would do good business.
