Google Inbox - Review

Google has recently launched its new app called Inbox. As the name indicates, an email app designed to help users with needs of more than just checking their emails.

Appearance –

This app from Google has a decent design that makes it easier to check and work on your emails. A major feature to support this task is of bundling. The app has seven preset bundles that include travel promos, finance, social, purchases, forums and updates. The bundling feature automatically sorts out your new emails and categorizes them in one of these bundles relevant for each mail. You may also add more bundles according to your requirements. If a user does not like this bundling feature, then they may turn it off too.

The quick toggle button at the bottom can be helpful for users when they want to toggle emails. Another nice feature of Inbox is its ability to remember the last person you emailed. This feature helps you by giving an option to mail them again. The snoozing feature in Inbox also works quite efficiently. Overall, this app is loaded with several supportive features for checking messages in your multiple email accounts.

Performance —

The Inbox app has a smooth and fast user interface. Swiping in this app is quicker and more convenient. Its desktop version also performs as effectively as the mobile version. There is better organization and structuring. For example, the Hangouts feature is improved significantly. If you compare this app to Gmail, then you will find it many times better in terms of performance. One drawback of this app is that it might crash at times or perform slow. However, it is expected to be okay when the app receives future updates.

Ease of use —

Although this app is easy to use, it lacks some features that could have made it far smoother and comfortable to use. For example, you cannot select all your mails at once if you need to. You also cannot drag and drop your messages as you do in Gmail.

Quality —

The Inbox app is a high-quality tool that can be used more swiftly and simply than Gmail itself. It is a great effort by Google to have come up with such a performance-oriented and useful email app. However, users may expect more added features and bug fixing in future updates.

Value for money –

Inbox is a free app that offers high value for money. However, it has only received a limited release as of now.
