It has been launched on February 13, 2011 by Samsung. Samsung Galaxy S II supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, 16/32GB internal storage, 1 GB RAM, and MicroSD card slot. The processor of Samsung Galaxy S II features a 1.2 GHz dual core system on a chip.

What is it?

Samsung galaxy S II is currently the world’s thinnest Dual-Core smartphone. It also claims to be the thinnest 1 GHz+ smartphone. It is one of the first smartphone to offer a Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) which allows up to 1080p uncompressed video output.

What’s innovative?

The Galaxy S II is the successor of Samsung Galaxy S and is much thinner, lighter, and faster than the Galaxy S. The up side:

The coating which Samsung has applied to the Galaxy S II’s screen works very well, as it resists fingerprint marks and smudges much better than any other average smartphone. The majority of LCDs of smartphones quickly lose their luster whereas the screen of the Galaxy S II remains undiminished. You will notice only some discoloration at the extreme angles of the phone.

The down side:

Though the Galaxy S II has reassured the build quality, it is made out of plastic rather than something more robust like HTC or Nokia’s all-aluminum cases. There is also a minuscule crevice between the screen and the handset’s frame that is prone to gathering dust if exposed to dirty environments.

Our experience:

With the Galaxy S2, it is difficult to state the actual battery life, as most of the people keep busy using various applications or games in the phone for all the time that we could never get an accurate read out. The android 2.3.4 update would improve the battery life and would make the phone work much quicker. The Gingerbread OS has been tweaked TouchWiz customizations to enhance user experience

The bottomline:

Galaxy S II is remarkably easy to summarize even with such a broad range of features and specifications. It is considered to be the best Android smartphone. If you are planning to buy a smartphone today, Samsung Galaxy S II would be best choice.
