Cell phone GPS tracker?

I have to know about the cell phone GPS tracker. I have brought a cell phone and it is supporting GPS service, but guys, I don’t have any idea about the GPS tracker. I want to know that how does it work? It is very useful tool to find any electronic gadgets. Enev it is helpful to get accurate way to some places. Guys, I have tried to do something with the GPS, but still it is confusing process for me. please post your ideas in very simple words. Thanks.
