Mini or palm top projector, as the name suggests are those projectors that are convenient to use and easy to carry. You can carry these small projectors while traveling or going to office. They are less bulky as compared to the traditional 12 pound projectors which you can carry only from room to room.

Taking view the ever increasing needs of the working class, the manufacturers of the projectors are adding advanced technology and introducing mini projectors that can be easily carried even in your pocket or a hand bag. Even though these projectors are smaller in size, they provide great picture quality with good sound. These projectors include no connections or wires. If you are not sure which projector would best suit your needs, here are some tips on how to buy a Mini, Pico or Palm-top projector.

1. Power source:

If you are planning to get the mini projector, then look for its power source. The mini projector should not have any kind of power cords. Projectors offering rechargeable options are the best one. Don’t ignore the battery life before you buy. Otherwise you will get the one whose battery life runs out in the middle of the presentation.

2. Technology:

Many Pico or Palm projectors use DLP technology. This technology gets affected easily by rainbow effect or if something moves on the screen. People who are sensitive to such situations can find it annoying. Whichever projector you consider, ensure to look for the effects which the projector gives or you can also check some reviews at PCMag.com

For Pico projectors the technologies which are used are laser and LCOS. However, there is not much to get the conclusions from either of these. Also not much reviews on the technologies as its pros and cons have been found out. Hence for this projector, you don’t have to look for some specific technologies.

3. Portability:

The mini projectors come under two categories one is Pico and other is Palm-top. You might get confused between the two as most of the manufacturers call the mini projectors as Palm-tops pocket projectors. However, Palm projectors are the one which comes with 2.5 to 5 inches dimensions. On the other hand Pico projectors come in the cell phone size. The latter is also comparatively light in weight. You can simply keep it in your pocket. Both the projectors are convenient to carry. The only difference is that Pico projectors are smaller and lighter in weight compared to Palm-tops projectors.

4. Resolution:

According to a research made, Palm and Pico projectors have the widescreen solutions. Few Palm tops and Pico projectors have the limited resolutions range which you can later scale down to native resolution. Hence ensure that the projector accepts the signals which you send it.

5. Audio:

The ability of Pico and Palm-top projectors ranges from nonexistent to the one which is one no use. This is good for small resolution. If you are planning to use sound in the presentations like for watching movies then ensure that the voice quality is loud and high. You can also use some spate sound system.

6. Brightness:

Ensure that the brightness for the Pico projectors s at least 10 lumen. It is said to be the perfect bright which can give your project a useful image for better viewing in the dark room with at least 24 diagonal sizes. As far as palm projector is concerned, it needs at least 100 to 200 lumen. For at least 40 inch diagonal image it is said to be perfect brightness.

Choosing the correct mini projector is always important, especially when you are holding a presentation on the professional front. You can also do an online research and gather useful information about the product and its features and other specifications.
